Osteopathy is a unique hands - in form of treatment, founded by frontier doctor Andrew Taylor Still in 1874 who recognized the importance of treating illness within the context of the whole body. Osteopathy is a way of detecting, treating and preventing health problems through manual therapy by addressing the various systems of the body (ie. the skeletal, visceral, cranio- sacral and fascial systems). It is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on their bones, muscles, ligaments and connective tissue functioning smoothly together.
